My Social Media-less Life

Somehow by the grace of God, I remembered that I needed to do a post for this week. Above are some of the pictures from this weekend. We still have one more day of the convention and then a travel day, but I doubt many of those events will have pictures.

This week was the last week for me to try to get my old profiles back, but honestly I was glad to know they’re gone forever. Less pull for me to go back. Plus my best friend (in one of the above pics with me) has been showing me stories and reels all weekend from Instagram (her social of choice), so… it’s been a different week than most so far. My roommate will just screenshot things if she thinks I need to see them, but her social of choice is Facebook… which is infinitely more “screenshootable.”

It hasn’t made anything harder or easier though, it’s just been different. So don’t think I’m pointing fingers or making excuses. Just saying.

On a different note…

The trip itself has been fun.
– I got to dress up in my Renaissance Festival garb again and at least got a couple selfies in it this time.
– I got to see a whole bunch of geeks be geeky. Which could be good or bad I suppose…
– I “adopted” an emotional support pocket wolf (which I named Rusty) and a little resin bat (name TBD) because they’re super cute.
– I’ve gotten to spend endless hours with people I love and got to see some old friends who’ve moved to Chicago in the past few years.
– I’ve learned that you can keep habits even while you’re on “vacation.”
– I’ve fallen in love with the town of South Bend, Indiana.

We’re leaving on Monday though, and I’m more than ready to go home… so as much as I’ve had fun, my bed sounds really nice.
