I had an eventful weekend in just about all the ways. It was busy with dog-sitting a “new” dog, seeing The Chosen in theaters, helping my mom put together a new kitchen table (NOT the one in the above picture), and having a birthday party for my sister-in-law.
I also had an eventful weekend in that I was having serious problems with not having social media this weekend. I hadn’t been that upset since September when Garfield the neighborhood cat and I met (see previous posts).
And while I was typing out this post, my keyboard broke, so that’s fun. That’s what happens when you buy too cheap I guess.
It was super cool however that I had a friend of mine stop me after church and tell me that she also got rid of social media completely and she doesn’t even miss it. She got the idea from me since the last time we hung out I was still in the “honeymoon” stage of not having the socials.
In some ways, it’s great that I don’t… and then in other ways, I wish it were still there. I’m still learning the art of being bored.
But the dreams keep happening so my brain is finally waking up and feeling more alive than it has in some time.
Last night’s dream was a silly thing, but I’ll share it quickly: I was driving in what was supposed to be downtown Kansas City and I was complaining to myself that we would never have the infrastructure for the World Cup in 2026. So I really hope that’s not prophetic.
This is like when I lost my dad, but very different in that this will be another “first Thanksgiving.” Only this time it will be the first Thanksgiving without social media and not without a person.
Speaking of loss, RIP Jason David Frank, aka, the Green Ranger from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. Glad I got a picture with him when I had the opportunity earlier this year.

So anyway, like I said, it’s been an eventful weekend. Plus I was still doing a little bit of writing. I’m a few days behind par for NaNoWriMo, but not so far behind that I won’t be able to catch up this week while I have some time off. The story is finally going in the right direction and I’m looking forward to getting this story out into the world…
