Novel-writing Winner

My printed Winner’s certificate from NaNoWriMo

As you can see from the above picture, I made it to 50,000 words in one consistent story since the very first time I actually officially started NaNoWriMo back in 2017.

The title is a working title, so don’t read too much into that, but I may or may not be seriously considering next steps once the story is actually finished. It still needs about 24-26k more words, depending on what I can finish off and who my general target audience will end up being.

I think if I were writing this story “for fun” like I did every other year, my sense of accomplishment would feel greater than it does… but the Lord gave me this story a long time ago (as I’ve mentioned) and I don’t think I’ll feel that way until I’ve finished the first draft in its entirety.

But then of course there will be more. This is going to be a series for sure. It always was meant to be that way.

From this main story, I have a few off-shoots even. They’re not “spin-offs” necessarily, but they originally involved characters from that first story. So I have enough to keep me writing for some time.

Now it’s time to start doing the things.

On a different note, I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving and had lots of time to spend with those you love the most, whether family, friends, or a good mix of both. 🙂

My Thanksgiving morning was spent with Bruno (pictured) and Lola

Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by to see what’s up.
