I Am An Adult

There I was, going along with my morning when all of a sudden I had a thought:
What if the DMV is open today?

In a rush, I opened my Maps app and looked up the DMV and subsequently clicked on the website link.
Boom. Open Saturday, 8am-Noon.

Since I had put the dogs away to take a shower (it’s a whole thing), I just finished getting ready and grabbed what I needed for the day and left.

Mentally I was expecting it to be busy at the DMV. When has it ever not been busy at the DMV? And on a Saturday morning at 10:30 no less.

Imagine my surprise as I walk in to get immediate help and am done in less than ten minutes.

If the Lord were not real, that would be one giant coincidence that would make me start believing there must be some higher power.

On top of that, I only had to pay a small overdue fee for being a week late. Using my debit card was a larger fee than the overdue fee was.

Really, the Lord has been in every step of this car-buying process and I am just in awe of how amazing He is and has been to me.

Since I was feeling bolstered by that excitement, I finally set up automatic payments for my car loan as well. It wasn’t hard obviously, but it was more mental energy than I had been willing to give over the past month or so that I’ve been holding onto the paper that tells me how to set up these payments.

So for today, I am an adult.
Also, (and most importantly) the Lord is good.
