The “Challenge” of a Lifetime

What is the biggest challenge you will face in the next six months?

– Daily Writing Prompt

Funny story about this prompt: the Lord recently told me to give Him the next six months specifically on a certain issue… and it’s not something I am at liberty to discuss. Probably not until those six months are up, I think.

However I was thinking about that request.
“Give Me six months.”
It seems such a strange thing for Him to ask since… I’ve already given Him my whole life and all of my time! More than once and sometimes multiple times a day.

But it’s funny how humans are. We have to be reminded on a regular basis that, we are ultimately NOT in control and sometimes a more “attainable” goal helps us to stay focused on what the ultimate goal is.

What is that ultimate goal? One might ask.

Living a lifetime for Jesus.

Although the request was in regards to a certain issue, the request made by the Lord had no qualifiers on it and could mean literally anything.

I had a few friends tell me it was super vague and asked if there was anything more specific.

There was not. However, the Lord is only extremely specific about issues in my life if they have consumed my every thought. This particular issue has not and I addressed it as soon as it arose.

Thus I was reminded by the Lord to trust Him (as always) and He gave me an “attainable” goal to remind me that ultimately I follow Him and no matter what happens, I am still His and He is still mine.

So regardless of any other “challenges” that arise between now and six months from now, the biggest challenge— and the one I plan on completing to the best of my ability— is living for Jesus. Completely and wholeheartedly.
