How often do you walk or run?
I feel like I’m slowly starting to get into a rhythm with my life again, so I’ve decided to get a little bit of writing in.
I don’t walk nearly as much as I want to, but I LOVE to walk. It wasn’t until this past year that I fully realized how much I really do enjoy walking.
My local neighborhood is my absolute favorite place to walk and I’ve got several routes in my head that are absolutely my favorite.
I always feel like I’m on a long walk and then I come home only to find I’ve been gone for about 15 minutes… but I think my app is lying to me, because… I get through too many songs for only 15 minutes of walking.
So the short answer is… not as often as I want. There was a period of time I was walking nearly every day, but then I started pet-sitting for animals that either don’t walk or aren’t great walkers.
Falling out of a habit is so much easier than building one, and since I still sit for a small amount of people, it’s been nearly impossible to start walking as a habit again.
On the flip side of that, I’ve walked 2 times today. Only for short spurts, but the Noom health app I’ve been using says it’s okay if the “workouts” are smaller. I don’t HAVE to have a full 30-minute workout if that doesn’t work with my schedule.
And 9 times out of 10… it doesn’t.
I LOVE the full 30 minutes of walking, but I just can’t find a 30-minute block that doesn’t require me waking up a full hour before I normally would.
On a different note…
I definitely meant to do two runs this year and ended up just getting the shirts without actually doing the runs… I was a little disappointed, but with the way my travel schedule has been with Rachel and her books, it simply wasn’t feasible and I probably should have foreseen that before signing up.
In short, I walk a lot less than I’d like and run almost never. 🙂
