Withdrawal Symptoms Are Real

I’m writing this as I’m at church on lyrics and I just have to say, I am SO. TIRED. Physically tired. I haven’t been this tired at a church function since I first came to this church in 2014.

The only thing missing in my life is something by way of social media, so I’m wondering if this is yet another withdrawal symptom. My brain seems to think, “Welp, I’m done with the day. Time to sleep.”

My sleep has been somewhat better, but being tired at 5pm (when I first got really tired) just isn’t normal! Not even for someone who woke up when she was done sleeping at 6:30am.

“Your brain is rearranging itself!” A dear friend admonished. A few others have echoed the same sentiment, but this is a harder rewrite than I initially thought. I didn’t realize how much I really relied on social media to keep me awake… sad as that sounds.

Also, I think I’m feeling a bit depressed. Dopamine is the “happiness” drug after all. So if you see me, don’t hesitate to give me a hug or… a gift card… or a good joke. Or a meme. Or something to show that you care. ❤

Mornings are easier than they used to be though, so that’s a win. I read my Bible for the first time since January and had almost a whole hour of quiet time before I went to work. It was LOVELY.

So there is some good in this… I just wanted to let you know that there are much harder times than I initially realized I had signed up for. Thanks for coming with me on this journey.
