Four Weeks Down, Eternity To Go

This week, I’m going out of town with a few friends, so I’m technically in the middle of trying to get my room ready… I’m already packed… that’s like packing for pet-sitting and I can do that literally in my sleep.

It’s been almost exactly a month since I deleted the socials from my life. My roommate and I had a mini-conversation about long- and short-term changes and whether this qualifies as long-term since it’s only been a month, but I’m almost to the day that I can’t even ask for my old profiles back and then it would be like starting all over if I went back. At that point it wouldn’t be worth it for me. I’ve always been a bit weird like that…

Yesterday, my best friend and I went to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival and we didn’t take one picture. It was amazing, honestly. And experiencing a RenFest for the first time was much easier without worrying about if I would have “the right picture” or caption for social media.

I didn’t even remember that I’m trying to blog on Saturdays until right before I fell asleep last night. Haha! I was so tired, all I did was take a shower and get right into bed. I slept for 8 and a half hours… so I was definitely tired.

But it was a great experience and I’ll definitely be doing it again… just hopefully on a less hot day next time. And maybe with a bit more spending money…

This morning as I was waiting for my brother, nephews and niece to get to church I sat in a chair and automatically pulled my phone out as if I still had social media… and that was the first time all week. So… the amount of times I pull it out with the intention of going to a social site are getting fewer and farther between.

On a different note, I’m really excited about this trip out of town this week. Since it’ll be something of a “working” trip, I may or may not remember or have the mental capability to write out a blog. But I’ll do my best to take some pictures. 😉
