Update On “The Purge”…

“Coco”

*note: I will be saying “we” when talking about things the Lord is having me do because He has been using it when talking to me about what I need to do… it’s just the language and not so much that He is doing any of the physical stuff except directing me on what to do next. 🙂

In my last blog post, I talked about how excited I was to be doing this great big purge that the Lord asked me to do, and I just gotta tell ya…

It’s a lot less awesome once we get onto things I’ve had for 20 years or more.

For example, the above picture was a toy that I got in 2003. I threw that away last week right around the time I wrote the last post. Today… the objects I had to let go of were books.

And then the Harry Potter wands.
And then the Doctor Who sonic screwdrivers, one of which I’ve had since 2013.
And then the comic books I’ve somehow collected over the years that I thought would be neat to keep for my nephews and niece.

And all of this is transpiring right around my monthly cycle and it’s really just a lot more to handle than I originally thought it would be when the Lord first told me we’d be moving onto books next.

This next bit might sound like complaining too, but I promise this is all getting to a point that’s less “complainy.”

And then the Lord told me we’re going to be moving my computer desk that I literally have in front of my window because I love the view while writing/sitting there.

I almost started crying.

My author friend Rachel then asked if I would be willing to help her with something tonight for her upcoming audiobooks and thankfully she’s a very gracious friend, so when I told her how I was feeling and what was going on she was like, “jk, you can do it tomorrow. It’s not a huge deal tonight.” (But in more words because that’s how Rachel is)

If anybody ever tries to tell you that your relationship with the Lord does not involve other people, you have not properly lived life. Obviously, that’s not to say that ultimately it’s up to you how your relationship with Him goes, but if you’re doing life all by yourself without anybody else getting involved in the nitty-gritty… you haven’t really seen the heart of God. I believe that, anyway.

This blog is just a reminder to everyone that it’s okay to have “down days” and it’s okay to let your friends know what’s going on. You can’t really have accountability without them anyway. 😉

*I’m hoping by the end of the week I’ll have completed the task and I will hopefully be writing another post about it then. 🙂

See you on the other side!

I was going to count up how many words I actually used, but for some reason Slack ate those messages (both yours and mine). They’re not showing up on my end and I’m really questioning what reality I live in now.

    Love you, friend.

    1. I found it. So… you technically used slightly less words, except that we had the back and forth. So it was my bad you used more words. 😅 anyway… love you too!

So none of us know what reality we’re living in… got it. Sounds normal for us. LOL
