Today I woke up to a snow day. As a self-employed person, I have the luxury of taking the day off when the sky decides to dump 6 inches of snow. Thankfully I had cleared the schedule when they began threatening the amount of snow we were supposed to get. I’m really glad I did, since my suburb got more than what they originally predicted.
Most people with a snow day— who don’t also have to work— might do nothing. I made a list of the things I needed to do last night and made sure I told my friend Rachel so she could keep me on task. Today turned out differently for her because of the snow storm, but she did ultimately keep me on task.
I finished all the things… in reverse order mostly. But shoveling was one of the things on the list and I have always loved shoveling. I don’t like the preparation to get out there, but the act itself is one of the few chores I get excited to do.

It took me about 45 minutes to finish the driveway. It was wet, heavy snow, but apparently I got it done in a really good time. My roommate was surprised when I came back inside. I was just glad I wasn’t outside anymore.
It was about 10am by the time I had finished the one thing I thought would take me the longest. The other chores I had on the list never take me a long time… it’s just the act of getting to the point of finishing them that is always so long.
I also colored my hair, but forgot to make sure I had enough to cover my whole head, so now it’s a bit patchy… but it also looks like it’s an intentional patchy job?

Either way, I’ll be using my extra coloring conditioner that can be used in or out of the shower tomorrow morning to let it cover some of the spots. They may not cover well, but like I said… it doesn’t look too terrible, now that I’ve had almost all day to get used to it.
“What is the point of this blog, Erica? You don’t usually make a daily blog about what you did with your life.”
No, but why not do it today? I wanted to blog, and here we are. It was the last thing on my list for today, and you got to go on a mini-adventure with me in the process.
I also waited for my laptop to update, but finally gave it up as a bad job and did a few more things I forgot to do today… like hang some art from Rachel’s book series and finish cleaning up underneath my desk… because that is definitely part of my room, last time I checked.

Anyway, didn’t know I was going to share all these pictures with you, but I’m glad I took them all throughout the day. 🙂 Have a great night, everyone! And if you’re in an area that suddenly had lots of snow, be safe driving and watch out for the crazies.
